Barbara Prestia already has a long and successful career in the world of music and theatre production.

Her angel like voice, teaching finesse and acting abilities have seen her appear on stages across the world, in home grown movies, produce children’s television shows, release her first album and create a vocal production studio business to assist others on their musical journey.

Growing up on the Gold Coast Barbara Prestia was fortunate enough to start her vocal training with Patricia White. Patricia White’s knowledge and passion for creating healthy beautiful and clean sound is something Barbara see’s as a true gift.

After graduating from Southport State High School, Barbara continued studying privately with Patricia White while also studying acting at The Australian Film and Television Academy where she went on to work in the film industry for a short time. At that time Barbara was also part of the Gold Coast local Amateur Theatre Scene, performing with the Gold Coast Little Theatre and HOTA under the direction of the late Robert Young. It was here that Barbara learnt so much about working in ensembles and developed a love for Musical Theatre Repertoire. Up to this time Barbara’s repertoire had been primarily classical.

After a few years as lead performer at the Gold Coast premier entertainment venue, Dreamworld Barbara moved to London. Here Barbara found herself working at Chessington World of Adventures, contracted to perform in the Benoland Stunt Show.

On returning from London Barbara co wrote and created a Children’s Show called Polly and Molly and released a Polly and Molly CD. Polly and Molly performed at many kid’s festivals in Victoria and New South Wales. Barbara also worked as a Children’s Performer for ABC kids live and traveled nationally with their shows and festivals.

Barbara has performed as a Chorus member for Opera Queensland in La Boheme at HOTA and La traviata at QPAC and created a singing duo called Aluna Dreaming that performed at various concerts and, culture and corporate events around Australia. She most recently performed the role of Universe for the Wild Dreamer Productions production Meera staged on the Gold Coast and in Auckland. During this period with Wild Dreamer Productions she also co-produced a kids show ‘Hyped’.

In 2019 Barbara released her first solo album ‘It’s a Call’ and continues to create new music. She released the Mumma Moon Music Video 2019 which has been a great success and her second Music video This Ancient Land has also been hugely successful. The intention behind This Ancient Land is one of healing, wisdom, love and connection. Barbara loves to connect with others through singing, songwriting and sharing her own knowledge of good quality vocal production and has such has launched a vocal production studio on the Gold Coast to assist others find their own unique voice.
